Genotyping from Geneblitz®

The Geneblitz® genotyping service offers an extensive range of assays designed to complement drug discovery, research and clinical trial programmes.

Our portfolio of genotyping assays is increasing rapidly and we are always pleased to hear of your genotyping requirements. If you require an assay, which is not on our current list, then please contact us.

The Geneblitz® genotyping service offers you any or all of three options:

  1. Saturation Polymorphism Analysis for haplotype and "drug to target" determination.
  2. Disease Specific Genotyping plus genotyping for other conditions and characteristics.
  3. Pharmacogenetic Profiling; genotyping associated with drug metabolism (phase I and phase II enzymes).

1. Saturation Polymorphism Analysis
We undertake, on your behalf, a systematic analysis of DNA sequence variation in candidate genes or genomic regions in any ethnically diverse or specified population group. To do this, we will work with you to obtain any number of consented genomic DNA samples, will amplify the gene or DNA region of interest and will identify DNA polymorphisms therein. From these data we determine the haplotypes which occur in the population studied or can identify differences between normal and tumour tissue. When combined with our TaqMan® based transcriptional profiling system, you have access to a powerful set of tools for assisting with your drug development and research programmes.

Projects are priced on a contract research basis (daily, monthly or yearly rate) whereby we discuss with you the work required and carry it out to your specification. Please email us on sales@geneblitz.com to request further information. More details can also be found on the Contact page.

2. Disease Specific Genotyping
This particular Geneblitz® genotyping service specialises in SNP analyses and identification in disease specific genes or disease associated regions of the genome. Our portfolio includes analysis for cancer associated genetic polymorphisms and those markers which predict the toxicity and efficacy of chemotherapeutic drugs.

We also offer a range of tests associated with prediction of heart disease and rejection of organs after transplantation. Other assays involve, for example, SNP's as markers for neurological disorders. We are always pleased to consider new assays and would be keen to hear your requirements.

3. Pharmacogenetic Profiling - Drug Metabolism
That individuals respond in a different manner to equivalent doses of the same drug is a well-known phenomenon.

In mammals, the metabolism of xenobiotics is catalysed by the phase I (oxidation) and phase II (conjugation) enzyme systems.

The Geneblitz® service is designed to assist you with the process of understanding the genetic profiles of patients enrolled in phase I to phase IV clinical trials, by determination of DNA polymorphisms associated with the phase I and phase II enzymes. Our portfolio of pharmacogentic genotyping assays is substantial and we would be pleased to discuss your needs with you.
