Animal identity testing

The Geneblitz® animal identity testing service offers parentage testing for equine, bovine and canine samples using the proven technologies of PCR and microsatellite analysis.

Our bovine parentage service Sirecheck™ offers a cost effective option for all breeds of cattle.

Using our rapid, accurate and cost effective test we can provide you with solutions for:

determination of parentage
production and maintenance of lineage
records for breeding purposes and registration
resolution of bovine paternity disputes

If you provide us with a blood, semen or mouth sample (taken by rubbing a brush around the animal’s mouth) from each of the animals to be tested, we will provide you with a parentage report which indicates their biological relationship.

The cheek sample is taken with a kit we provide and does not require a vet. Turnaround time from receipt of the sample by us to reporting to you is 15 working days.

The equine and bovine StockMarks® tests employ informative sets of microsatellite markers as recommended by the International Society of Animal Genetics (ISAG).

The canine StockMarks® test employs a set of informative microsatellite markers as recommended by the American Kennel Club (AKC).

BS EN ISO9001:2000. Results are provided to you as a comprehensive written report with supporting documentation where specified.
